WASHINGTON, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Two-thirds of Americans favor a prompt end to U.S. military operations against Iran, even if the initial goals set out by the Trump administration are not fully achieved, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday.
The poll, conducted Friday through Sunday, found that about 66 percent of respondents want the U.S. government to wrap up its military campaign against Iran as soon as possible.
Around 60 percent of those surveyed said they oppose U.S. military strikes on Iran, while only 35 percent expressed support in the survey of 1,021 people.
Surging gasoline prices have emerged as one of the war's most visible effects in the United States. Two in three respondents said they expected gas prices to rise further over the next year, the poll showed.
More than half of the respondents said the conflict will have a negative impact on their personal finances. ■
