COLOMBO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka has finalized arrangements for importing fuel from Russia, a senior Ceylon Petroleum Corporation official said on Wednesday.
Mayura Neththikumarage, managing director of the corporation, said Sri Lanka only has two places where fuel can be unloaded. Thus, they are now finalizing technical and logistical details with a Russian company on when a fuel shipment can arrive, he said.
He added that most crude oil and refined fuel shipments scheduled for April and May have already been secured.
He said fuel prices might also reduce marginally in June.
However, he urged the public to use fuel sparingly as global prices remain high. ■
