HANOI, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery export revenue reached 16.69 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2026, up 5.9 percent year on year, the Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday, citing data released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Notably, pepper exports totaled 64,600 tons and were worth 417.5 million dollars, up 36.8 percent in volume and 28.8 percent in value from the same period of 2025, despite a 5.9 percent decline in average export prices.

China, the United States and Japan were Vietnam's three largest export markets, accounting for 22.1 percent, 18.3 percent and 7.1 percent of the total, respectively, the report added.

Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian country's agro-forestry-fishery imports in the first three months totaled 11.91 billion dollars, up 3.6 percent year on year, according to the ministry.
