BUJUMBURA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Several blasts were heard in Bujumbura, Burundi's economic capital, on Tuesday, residents told Xinhua.
The Burundian Ministry of the Interior, Community Development, and Public Security said in a post on the social media platform X that the explosions followed a fire at a military camp in Bujumbura Province.
Burundi's National Defence Force confirmed that the blasts originated from an ammunition depot at the Bujumbura Military Base, where a fire had broken out. ■
