YEREVAN, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Armenia's ruling Civil Contract has nominated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as its candidate for the premiership in the upcoming parliamentary elections, Armenpress reported Monday.
The nomination followed two rounds of "internal voting" within the party. Pashinyan said on social media that the results were finalized after the appeal period expired. He thanked the party's Counting Committee for the "essentially flawless" organization of the process.
Armenia's next parliamentary elections are scheduled for June 7. ■
