JAKARTA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian government on Tuesday confirmed that there will be no increase in fuel prices, both subsidized and non-subsidized, starting April 1, 2026, amid widespread misinformation circulating among the public.

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said state energy firm Pertamina would not adjust fuel prices for the time being, dismissing rumors of a sharp rise in non-subsidized fuel prices.

"Pertamina will not make any price adjustments, either for subsidized or non-subsidized fuel," he said in an official statement.

The decision followed coordination between the government and Pertamina, as well as orders from President Prabowo Subianto to prioritize public interests in policymaking, Hadi said.

He added that the clarification was intended to provide accurate information and prevent public confusion.

"We hope the public does not need to panic or worry, as fuel availability is guaranteed and there will be no price adjustment," he said.
