KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The public is urged to adopt fuel-saving measures to reduce potential disruptions if the Middle East conflict continues, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said on Tuesday.
Describing the country as operating in "crisis mode," Loke warned at a press briefing that the full impact is yet to be felt and that Malaysians should not take the situation lightly.
Since the start of the conflict in the Middle East in February, Malaysian consumers have been burdened by several hikes in fuel prices, particularly diesel, with energy costs spiking over the past month. ■
