KABUL, March 31 (Xinhua) -- The construction of a cancer diagnosis and treatment center in Kabul is underway and is now 94 percent complete, local media outlet TOLOnews reported on Tuesday.
The facility is funded at a cost exceeding 300 million afghanis (nearly 5 million U.S. dollars). Once completed, it will provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment services for cancer patients and serve as a practical training site for medical students, the report said.
Officials said the center is expected to strengthen Afghanistan's healthcare system, particularly in oncology, and contribute to the professional development of future medical practitioners. ■
