BEIJING, March 30 (Xinhua) -- China firmly opposes official interactions between the United States and the Taiwan region, and has made stern representations to the U.S. side, said a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson on Monday.
Spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks at a regular press briefing in response to the recent visit to Taiwan by four U.S. senators, urging the United States to take concrete actions to uphold the overall interests of China-U.S. relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. ■
