NAIROBI -- At least 15 people died in a road accident involving a truck carrying logs and a minibus, locally known as matatu, in Nyeri County, central Kenya, on Saturday evening, police said.
Central Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Elizabeth Vivi confirmed the incident on the Nyeri-Nyahururu road, saying that 10 people died on the spot while five others succumbed to injuries in the hospital. (Kenya-Road Accident)

KABUL -- At least 17 people have been killed and 26 others injured in rain-related accidents in Afghanistan during the last 24 hours, the National Disaster Management Authority announced on Sunday.
Heavy rains triggered flash floods, along with landslides, thunder and lightning, across the country, including parts of Parwan, Daykundi, Wardak and Logar provinces, said Hafiz Mohammad Yusuf Hammad, spokesman for the authority. (Afghanistan-Accidents-Floods) ■
