TAIYUAN, March 28 (Xinhua) -- One person died and 25 others were injured, including seven in critical condition, after a high-rise building fire broke out in Taiyuan, north China's Shanxi Province, on Saturday, local authorities said.
The fire erupted at around 8 p.m. in Xiaodian District of Taiyuan, sources with the Taiyuan municipal government said.
So far, the open flames have been extinguished. Firefighters are carrying out search and rescue operations inside the building. ■
