NEW DELHI, March 28 (Xinhua) -- At least five people, including four women and a child, died and nearly two dozen were injured when the bus they were travelling in collided with a huge rock in India's eastern state of Odisha, a local police officer confirmed on Saturday.
The mishap occurred in Odisha's Nayagarh district late on Friday night.
According to the police officer, the private bus was carrying more than 40 passengers from Berhampur city to the Harishankar area in Odisha. The bus driver lost control of the vehicle as it crashed into a rock along the roadside. The bus then overturned, resulting in casualties.
Those injured were admitted to a local hospital. ■
