KATHMANDU, March 27 (Xinhua) -- A helicopter with five passengers on board went missing in Nepal's Dolakha district on Friday, an official at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal said.

The helicopter, operated by Mustang Helicopters and registered as 9N-ANO, was flying from Charikot to Lapcha when it lost contact.

The helicopter departed at 12:17 p.m. local time and was expected to reach its destination around 1:00 p.m.

All five passengers on board are Nepali nationals. The last known position of the helicopter was reported about 21 nautical miles southeast of Langtang in the Dolakha district.

"Search and rescue coordination is underway after the helicopter lost contact during the flight," Gyanendra Bhul, an information officer at the authority, told Xinhua.
