GUANGZHOU, March 27 (Xinhua) -- China's leading driverless technology firm Pony.ai achieved total revenue of 629 million yuan (about 91 million U.S. dollars) in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 20 percent, according to the company's financial report.
The report stated that its robotaxi fleet will exceed 3,000 vehicles by the end of 2026, with robotaxi services to be deployed in more than 20 cities worldwide.
For the year 2025, the company's robotaxi business revenue reached 116 million yuan, surging 129 percent, while passenger fare revenue jumped nearly 400 percent compared with the previous year, the report noted.
Peng Jun, founder and CEO of Pony.ai, said that 2025 marked a pivotal year in the company's development and that it achieved comprehensive expansion in revenue scale, robotaxi fleet size, operational network coverage, and user base.
In March 2026 alone, Pony.ai launched its robotaxi services in Hangzhou and Changsha, two major Chinese cities, as well as in Croatia.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, Pony.ai currently operates a fleet of over 1,400 Robotaxis and approximately 200 Robotrucks, with its global autonomous driving test mileage accumulating to more than 70 million kilometers, of which over 20 million kilometers were completed in fully driverless mode. ■
