ABU DHABI, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Falling debris after the interception of a ballistic missile by air defense systems killed two people and injured three others in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), authorities said on Thursday.
The Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed that the incident occurred on Sweihan Street and damaged several cars. Investigations are underway and more details will be released in due course.
Residents across the UAE, including in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, received mobile alerts on Thursday morning, warning of a missile threat and urging them to seek shelter as air defense systems responded. ■
