MOSCOW, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Russia views multilateral dialogue platforms like the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) as important mechanisms for deepening regional cooperation in the Asia-Pacific amid growing geopolitical tensions, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.
The BFA Annual Conference 2026, themed "Shaping a Shared Future: New Dynamics, New Opportunities, New Cooperation," opened on Tuesday and will run for four days.
Zakharova said this year's forum focuses on major global economic trends, with discussions covering the digital economy, artificial intelligence governance, trade and investment facilitation, as well as cross-border payments and e-commerce, which are also vital to Russia.
She noted that Russia maintains active engagement with China and other Asian partners and is willing to develop deeper and sustainable economic cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Zakharova also wished the conference every success and expressed the hope that Russia's cooperation with the forum will continue to expand. ■
