KABUL, March 26 (Xinhua) -- A range of development initiatives has been launched in eastern Afghanistan's Panjshir province, aimed at strengthening infrastructure and enhancing public services, official media Bakhtar news agency reported on Thursday.
The projects, currently underway across several districts, cover key sectors including the construction of roads and bridges, expansion of water supply networks, rural development programs, and improvements to healthcare services, the report said.
In addition, six urban development projects with a combined budget of 600,000 U.S. dollars have been approved and are set to begin in the near future. These initiatives will focus on building water canals, upgrading secondary roads, and constructing protective retaining walls.
The efforts are expected to accelerate local development, improve access to essential services, and contribute to raising the overall standard of living for residents in the province. ■
