ISLAMABAD, March 26 (Xinhua) -- Two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, police said.
The terrorists, affiliated with the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), opened fire on security personnel, triggering an exchange of gunfire in Tank district.
Following the operation, two of them were found dead, while weapons and ammunition, including Kalashnikov rifles, were recovered from the scene.
The CTD said the terrorists were involved in multiple attacks on police, including targeted killings and improvised explosive device attacks. ■
