CONAKRY, March 25 (Xinhua) -- An economic and commercial forum bringing together Guinean and French companies was held Tuesday in Conakry, Guinea's capital, to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The Guinea-France business forum aims to formalize a partnership between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts of Guinea (CCIAG) and the Aix-Marseille-Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the partnership focusing on technology transfer, increased French investment in Guinea and exchanges between the two countries' business communities.
According to Mamadou Balde, president of the CCIAG, around 15 French companies participated in this forum, operating in strategic sectors, including energy, industry, logistics, infrastructure and construction.
Guinean Industry and Trade Minister Fatima Camara linked the forum to the country's Simandou 2040 development project, saying Guinea aims to move beyond cooperation toward joint production, investment and integrated value chains.
"Guinea is now asserting itself not only as a market, but also as a platform for production and growth," she added. ■
