HANOI, March 24 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has approved a program to strengthen the protection of children online while improving their digital skills during the 2026-2030 period, the Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
Authorities plan to build a comprehensive protection framework based on five pillars, including a stronger legal system, nationwide awareness campaigns, accessible cybersecurity and digital education solutions, enhanced inter-agency coordination and improved self-immunity among children through safety education, said the report.
During the period, all schools are expected to deploy cybersecurity solutions, while internet service providers must integrate filters to block harmful content, and localities nationwide adopt technologies to deliver digital skills education, counselling and smart support services.
The program also guarantees timely support and intervention for any child who is a victim of online abuse, upon request from the child, their family or the community. ■
