SAO PAULO, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Yuri Alberto cancelled out Lucas Paqueta's early goal as Corinthians drew 1-1 at home to Flamengo in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday.
Former West Ham United midfielder Paqueta opened the scoring in the third minute when he ran onto Pedro's pass and slotted a first-time shot into the far corner.
Alberto equalized shortly after with a close-range finish following Matheus Bidu's cross.
The visitors were forced to play most of the second half with 10 men after Evertton Araujo was shown a straight red card for a bad challenge on Breno Bidon.
The result leaves Flamengo fourth in the standings with 14 points, four ahead of 11th-placed Corinthians.
Elsewhere in Brazil's Serie A on Sunday, Vitoria won 1-0 at home to Mirassol, Santos drew 0-0 at Cruzeiro, Internacional prevailed 2-0 at home to Chapecoense, Vasco da Gama edged to a 2-1 home win over Gremio, Remo cruised to a 4-1 home victory over Bahia and Athletico Paranaense won 2-0 at home to Coritiba. ■
