MOSCOW, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's attempts to target energy infrastructure are irresponsible and reckless amid an unstable global energy market, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Russian energy giant Gazprom said that critical infrastructure facilities supporting gas exports via the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines came under fresh attacks between March 17 and 19.

Moreover, Peskov noted that Ukraine has continued and intensified drone attacks targeting Russia's gas compressor stations.

Gazprom said in a statement that Russian forces and mobile response teams have jointly repelled the attacks and prevented damage to its facilities.

Peskov said that Ukraine's "reckless" actions taken "amid a global energy market that is experiencing discomfort, to put it mildly, risk further destabilizing the situation not only regionally but globally."
