YAOUNDE -- Seventeen people were killed after a Sudanese drone strike hit the Chadian border town of Tine Djagaraba, Chad's Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman Gassim Cherif Mahamat said in a statement early Thursday.

NEW DELHI -- At least two people were killed and 11 others injured Thursday in a devastating fire that gutted a textile embroidery factory in the western Indian state of Gujarat, police said.

ANTANANARIVO -- At least 17 migrants have died in a boat incident off the Comoros, the country's Interior Minister Mohamed Ahmed Assoumani said on Thursday.

BEIRUT -- At least five people were killed and 10 others wounded on Thursday in a series of Israeli airstrikes targeting multiple areas in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon's National News Agency.

LILONGWE -- At least 13 people were killed and 35 others injured after heavy rains and floods hit Malawi between March 15 and 18, the country's Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) said on Thursday.
In an update signed by Commissioner for Disaster Management Affairs Wilson Moleni, the department said that a total of 9,598 households have been affected, including 128 households displaced. (Malawi-Floods) ■
