KABUL, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Afghan authorities have begun work on eight water supply networks in Panjshir province, eastern Afghanistan, to provide clean water to local communities, according to the official media Bakhtar news agency on Wednesday.
According to the report, the networks, costing a total of 442,000 U.S. dollars, are being implemented across multiple districts and are expected to benefit thousands of households.
The initiatives will improve public health and overall living conditions once completed.
In a separate development, construction has also started on a major road in Musa Kala district of southern Afghanistan's Helmand province, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure in the country. ■
