DOHA, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Qatar's Ministry of Interior said on Tuesday that the civil defense teams were dealing with a minor fire in Doha's Industrial Area caused by falling debris from an intercepted missile, with no casualties reported.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defense said Qatar's armed forces had intercepted a missile launched from Iran targeting the country.
Qatar was targeted by 14 ballistic missiles and several drones on Monday, with all drones and 13 missiles intercepted while one landed in an uninhabited area without causing casualties, according to the Qatar News Agency.
The attacks came amid heightened tensions following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran that began last month, which prompted Iran and its regional allies to retaliate with attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests across the Middle East. ■
