KABUL, March 17 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and four others injured in two separate traffic accidents in eastern Afghanistan's Ghazni province, the provincial police office reported late Monday.
The incidents occurred on the outskirts of the Gylan and Muqar districts along the major highway linking the capital, Kabul, with the southern Kandahar province, killing two commuters on the spot and injuring four others, according to the statement.
Afghanistan continues to face a high toll from road accidents each year, with thousands killed due to reckless driving on congested roads, poor road conditions, a lack of traffic signs on aging highways, overloading, and speeding. ■
