BEIRUT, March 17 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah on Tuesday denied accusations by Kuwait's Interior Ministry that it was linked to cells or networks operating inside the Gulf state.
In a statement, the group described the claims as "completely false," saying it has repeatedly affirmed that no Hezbollah-affiliated cells, individuals, or formations exist in Kuwait. It also stressed its commitment to Kuwait's security and stability.
Kuwait's Interior Ministry said Monday that security authorities had uncovered and arrested a group it described as affiliated with Hezbollah, accusing it of seeking to undermine the country's security and recruit individuals to join the organization.
In a separate statement on Tuesday, Lebanon's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants strongly condemned a "terrorist plot" targeting Kuwait's sovereignty and security, and denounced Hezbollah's involvement.
The ministry also affirmed Lebanon's readiness to cooperate fully with investigations to ensure those responsible are held accountable. ■
