CHONGQING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Japan's teen star Miwa Harimoto beat China's Kuai Man 4-3 to win the women's title at the WTT Champions Chongqing on Sunday.
Harimoto, 17, avenged her 4-1 Asian Cup loss in February, outlasting Kuai 11-6, 9-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5.
Kuai seemed to lose firepower in the deciding set, as the Japanese took a 3-0 lead with forehand attacks and pulled away with more killing shots.
Kuai had suffered a crushing 4-0 defeat by Harimoto in the 2025 Champions Incheon event, before taking revenge at the Asian Cup in February.
Kuai, ranked fifth in the world, had ousted China's world No. 1 Sun Yingsha in the quarterfinals and subdued fellow Chinese Wang Yidi in the semifinals. ■
