ABU DHABI, March 13 (Xinhua) -- National carriers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have restored 44.6 percent of their operating capacity compared to pre-conflict levels, the UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority said Friday.
The UAE airports handled about 1.4 million passengers between March 1 and March 12, with 7,839 air traffic movements recorded in the country's airspace, the authority reported in a statement.
It advised travellers to follow the latest updates issued by airlines before heading to airports.
The statement came amid heightened regional tensions after joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran starting from Feb. 28, to which Iran and Iran-aligned groups responded with attacks on Israeli and U.S. interests across the Middle East. ■
