BUENOS AIRES, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Winger Dylan Aquino scored in the second half as Lanus edged to a 1-0 away win over Estudiantes in Argentina's Apertura tournament on Friday.
Aquino broke the deadlock in the 75th minute in La Plata, latching onto Eduardo Salvio's cross with a first-time strike that beat Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera at his near post.
Estudiantes controlled more than 60% of possession but rarely threatened to breach the visitors' defense.
Despite the result, Estudiantes remains third in the 15-team Group A standings with 15 points, three ahead of 10th-placed Lanus.
The top eight sides in Group A and Group B at the end of the regular season will progress to the competition's round of 16. ■
