BEIJING, March 14 (Xinhua) -- China will advance all-around rural revitalization and ensure that its outcomes benefit more farmers over the next five years, an expert said during the latest episode of China Economic Roundtable, an all-media talk show hosted by Xinhua News Agency.

Huang Hanquan, head of the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research under the National Development and Reform Commission, stressed that farmers are the main participants and ultimate beneficiaries of rural revitalization.

He said that boosting farmers' incomes requires developing high-quality, efficient agriculture and promoting the integrated development of rural industries, especially the high-quality development of rural e-commerce, rural tourism, and the under-forest economy.

It is also important to strengthen basic public services by better coordinating their provision at the county level to ease farmers' worries about education, medical care, elderly support and childcare, according to Huang.

Further efforts will be made to improve the rural environment, including enhancing rural infrastructure and living conditions, and strengthening weak links in the rural areas' modern living standards.

He also noted the importance of integrating regular assistance into the rural revitalization strategy to ensure overall stability in fiscal investment, financial support and resource allocation after the five-year transition period of poverty alleviation.
