MANILA, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investments (FDIs) into the Philippines recorded net inflows of 560 million U.S. dollars in December 2025, according to data released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

The central bank said on Tuesday that Japan emerged as the leading source of foreign investments during the month, with the majority of inflows directed to financial and insurance activities.

The BSP reported that on a cumulative basis, net FDI inflows reached 7.8 billion dollars from January to December 2025.

For the full year of 2025, equity capital placements were sourced mainly from Japan, the United States, Singapore, and South Korea. These investments were largely channeled into key sectors such as manufacturing, wholesale and retail trade, and the financial and insurance industries.
