NEW YORK, March 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Tuesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, fell 0.36 percent to 98.823 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.1644 dollars from 1.1578 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound advanced to 1.346 dollars from 1.3388 dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 157.63 Japanese yen, lower than 158.33 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar decreased to 0.777 Swiss francs from 0.7799 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.357 Canadian dollars from 1.3591 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar slipped to 9.1371 Swedish kronor from 9.21 Swedish kronor. ■
