BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese courts concluded trials in about 46,000 serious violent criminal cases in 2025, down 7.3 percent from a year earlier, amid stepped-up judicial efforts to safeguard public security, according to a work report of the top court on Monday.
Over the past year, Chinese courts intensified regularized efforts to root out organized crimes while cracking down on criminal gangs tied to clans and family networks in rural areas and those who protect them, said the Supreme People's Court in the report submitted to the ongoing national legislative session for deliberation. ■
