JERUSALEM, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli air force struck Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Space Force headquarters in Tehran, the Israeli army said in a statement on Sunday.
It said that the headquarters served as a reception, transmission, and research center for the Iranian Space Agency.
According to the statement, the site contained research facilities and command infrastructure for the Khayyam satellite, allegedly used by the IRGC "to advance terrorist activities and monitor Israel and its residents."
It added that the military also struck in Tehran 50 ammunition bunkers, a command center, a Basij voluntary force (a paramilitary volunteer militia within the IRGC) base, and an IRGC ground forces compound. ■
