COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka Navy seized 103 kilograms of heroin and nearly 1 kilogram of cocaine from a multi-day fishing trawler intercepted in southern waters on suspicion of drug trafficking on Saturday night, the navy said on Sunday.

The haul is estimated to have a street value of about 2.8 billion rupees (about 9.3 million U.S. dollars), Deputy Defense Minister Aruna Jayasekara said after visiting the site on Sunday morning and inspecting the seized vessel and narcotics. (Sri Lanka-Drug)

KUALA LUMPUR -- The ongoing search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 in a new area of the southern Indian Ocean has not led to the aircraft's location yet, the Transport Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry's Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) said in a statement that the operations were conducted in two phases: March 25 to 28, 2025 (Phase 1) and Dec. 31, 2025 to Jan. 23, 2026 (Phase 2), with the government having previously engaged the UK-based Ocean Infinity to reinstate the search for the missing aircraft. PHNOM PENH -- Retail oil prices in Cambodia are on a sharp rise on Sunday amid the escalation of the Middle East conflict.
