MEXICO CITY, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Cruz Azul continued its impressive start to the Liga MX Clausura season by cruising to a 3-0 home victory over San Luis on Saturday.
Argentine midfielder Agustin Palavecino struck early before Gabriel Fernandez and Andres Montano added second-half goals at Cuauhtemoc Stadium in Puebla City.
The visitors were forced to play the entire second half with 10 men after Eduardo Aguila was shown a straight red card for a bad challenge on Nicolas Ibanez.
The result leaves Cruz Azul four points clear at the top of the 18-team standings with eight wins from 10 games so far while San Luis is 12th, 15 points further back.
In other Liga MX fixtures on Saturday, Guadalajara prevailed 2-1 at Atlas, Pachuca won 2-1 at home to Puebla and Club America won 2-1 at Queretaro. ■
