BEIJING, March 6 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 jolted New Britain Region, Papua New Guinea, at 1626 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 6.14 degrees south latitude and 151.17 degrees east longitude. ■
