KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Islamic countries must close ranks in the face of repeated attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Thursday.
The current attacks against Iran show a significant weakness of the Islamic world in voicing a common stance and should serve as a reminder to them about the importance of strengthening unity and the courage to express their stance, Anwar said in a speech to the Federal Land Development Authority residents group.
"This development angers us and shows the apparent weakness of the Islamic world to voice its views together. Not to go to war, but to state its position clearly," he said.
In this regard, Anwar urged the countries to draw lessons from current developments by strengthening unity and improving the internal strength of their respective communities and countries. ■
