HANOI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- The Vietnamese government has established a task force to ensure national energy security amid complicated developments in the ongoing military conflict in the Middle East, the government portal reported Thursday.
Under a Wednesday decision, the task force is responsible for assisting the prime minister in directing and coordinating ministries and agencies to address issues related to energy security amid the Middle East developments.
It will monitor, assess and forecast market developments, while helping ensure sufficient fuel supplies for production and public consumption nationwide, as well as proposing policy measures and solutions to address emerging energy security challenges to the prime minister.
The task force will be disbanded upon completion of its mission. ■
