SYDNEY, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Ngan Thi Van Su struck in the 94th minute to secure a dramatic 2-1 victory for Vietnam over India in Group C action at the AFC Women's Asian Cup on Wednesday.

Vietnam, which reached the quarterfinals for the first time at the 2022 Asian Cup, saw Van Su open the scoring in the 30th minute, only for India substitute Sanfida Nongrum to equalize shortly after halftime.

In a nail-biting finish, Van Su curled home from close range to spark wild celebrations. Vietnam had earlier been denied a second goal by VAR, while India had pressured them on the counterattack, keeping the contest tense.

Earlier in Group C, Japan defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0. Vietnam now faces Chinese Taipei, while India takes on Japan on Saturday.
