MANAMA, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Bahrain's military said on Tuesday that it has intercepted and "neutralized" 73 missiles and 91 drones launched by Iran, preventing damage to the kingdom's infrastructure.
The General Command of Bahrain Defence Force confirmed in a statement that its air defense systems destroyed the incoming projectiles, underscoring the military's readiness to safeguard the nation's airspace, territorial waters, and land borders.
The Command condemned the strikes as a violation of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter, noting that attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure run contrary to international conventions and humanitarian standards.
Bahrain reserves the right to take all necessary measures to defend its sovereignty and ensure the safety and security of its territory, it added. ■
