BEIRUT, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese disaster management authorities reported on Tuesday that 58,064 people have been internally displaced across Lebanon amid escalating hostilities with Israel.
According to the official figures, the total number of displaced families in the country has reached 12,539.
The authorities said that from dawn on Monday until Tuesday afternoon, at least 40 people were killed and 246 others injured as cross-border violence intensified.
Tensions between Lebanon and Israel have escalated in recent days, with intensified airstrikes and exchanges of fire along the border, leading to mounting casualties, widespread displacement, and growing pressure on emergency response systems. ■
