WASHINGTON, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Two U.S. Defense Department employees were injured when an Iranian drone struck a hotel in Bahrain amid the ongoing massive U.S.-Israeli attack on Iran, The Washington Post reported Monday, citing a cable from the U.S. State Department.

"Two U.S. DOW personnel were injured," the cable was quoted as saying, referring to the Department of Defense.

The cable was sent Sunday and did not provide further details, said the newspaper.

The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain on Sunday advised U.S. citizens that "hotels might be a target for attacks, and encourages U.S. citizens to avoid hotels in Manama."

U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that the U.S. military campaign against Iran has the "capability to go far longer" than the four to five weeks he projected earlier, as the conflict escalates across the Middle East region.
