SYDNEY, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Defending champion China kicked off its AFC Women's Asian Cup campaign with a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh here on Tuesday.
China broke the deadlock in the 44th minute when midfielder Wang Shuang scored with a long-range strike. Veteran Zhang Rui soon doubled the advantage with another effort from distance, sending China into halftime with a 2-0 lead.
There was no goal scored from either side in the second half. ■
