DOHA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Two drones struck energy facilities in Qatar on Sunday, with no casualties reported, the Qatari Ministry of Defense said.
In a statement, the ministry said one drone targeted a water tank at a power plant in Mesaieed, and another hit an energy facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, an energy hub belonging to QatarEnergy.
The ministry added that relevant authorities are assessing the damage and losses resulting from the attack.
Later in the day, QatarEnergy said in a statement that it has halted LNG production over Iranian attacks.
On Saturday, the United States and Israel launched military strikes against Iran, prompting Iran to carry out retaliatory attacks on several regional countries, including Qatar. ■
