HANOI, March 1 (Xinhua) -- Six new laws officially took effect in Vietnam from March 1, covering legislation on artificial intelligence, investment, planning and state secrets protection, the Vietnam News Agency reported Sunday.

The new regulations include the Law on Artificial Intelligence 2025, the Law on Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils 2025, the Law on Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy 2025, the revised Law on Investment 2025, the Law on Planning 2025, and the Law on Protection of State Secrets 2025.

Among them, Vietnam's first Law on Artificial Intelligence (AI), adopted in December 2025, introduces a risk-based regulatory framework, requires AI-generated audio, images and videos to carry identifiable labels, and provides incentives and testing mechanisms to support the development of the country's AI industry.

Meanwhile, the revised Law on Investment aims to improve the business environment by reducing 38 conditional business lines and allowing foreign investors to establish project companies by obtaining an Enterprise Registration Certificate before securing an Investment Registration Certificate.
