COLOMBO, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lanka has issued its first Digital Nomad Visas under a newly introduced residency program targeting remote workers.
Two Ukrainian nationals became the first recipients of the digital nomad visa.
The visa, valid for one year, allows foreign nationals over the age of 18 to reside in Sri Lanka while engaging in online employment or business activities based outside the country. Holders are not permitted to take up local employment or operate domestic businesses, but may enroll their children in international or private schools. ■
