UNITED NATIONS, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Families in the Gaza Strip received on average two meals a day in February, compared with one meal per day in July 2025, UN humanitarians said Thursday.
However, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that one in five households still only gets one meal a day.
To help put food on the table, cash assistance was delivered last month to 750,000 people, OCHA said.
"Humanitarians leading on water, sanitation and hygiene services tell us that, in the last few months, they have delivered 17,000 hygiene kits, including toothpaste, soap and toothbrushes, to children and their families," OCHA said.
"Hundreds of water tanks have been installed near tents since the ceasefire, making it easier for people --especially children -- to find clean water," the office said. ■
