BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Following relevant regulations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), members of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, members of the leading Party members groups of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, as well as secretaries of leading Party members groups of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, have recently submitted written reports on their 2025 work to the CPC Central Committee and to General Secretary Xi Jinping. Xi reviewed the reports and put forward important requirements.
Xi stressed that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the CPC's founding and the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030). It is imperative for senior Party officials to adhere to the guidance of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, thoroughly implement the guiding principles from the 20th CPC National Congress and all plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, earnestly carry out the plans made at the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and strengthen their commitment to the "Four Consciousnesses," the "Four Confidences" and act on the "Two Upholds." It is a must for them to closely follow the CPC Central Committee in thinking, political stance, and action, enhance their sense of political responsibility and historical mission, and implement the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee with concrete actions, Xi said. Xi also noted that it is imperative for them to consciously perform their duties well, uphold the general principle of pursuing progress while ensuring stability, and fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts. It is equally important for them to promote high-quality development in a solid manner, to secure both development and security, make sustained efforts to improve people's living standards, and maintain social harmony and stability, to get the 15th Five-Year Plan off to a good start. It is essential for them to strictly implement the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving Party conduct and the detailed rules for enforcing the decision, always keep a clear head, cherish virtue with self-respect, and set an example in being steadfast in faith, pragmatic in action, responsible in performing duties and disciplined in conduct. It is imperative for them to take the lead in gaining and practicing a correct understanding of what it means to perform well, always proceed from reality, act in accordance with rules and regulations, and strive to deliver achievements for the people and make solid accomplishments through hard work. It is essential for them to conscientiously fulfill the political responsibility for full and rigorous Party self-governance, take coordinated steps to ensure that officials do not have the audacity, opportunity or desire to be corrupt, and foster a clean and upright political environment. ■
